For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. – Proverbs 23:7
As we already know that the human being is a tripart, let us examine how these work together with the subconscious mind.
The subconscious is defined as of or concerning the part of the mind of which one is not fully aware but which influences one’s actions and feelings.
When one is walking in the Spirit he is guided by the Spirit in terms of those things that feed, free and set alive the human spirit. It is this human spirit that is joined together with the Holy Spirit of Christ, making the two one. But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. – 1 Corinthians 6:17. It is through the human Spirit that the Holy Spirit guides, directs and instructs one. It is also through this Spirit that the Holy Spirit releases the power of God to those things necessary by the human being. In our days of walking in flesh we had imprisoned this Spirit. Therefore, instead of being governed and guided by Christ we became governed and guided by our own desires. But when we got joined together with Him, and continue to delight in the Spirit, the human spirit is set free.
The subconscious mind is the storage facility of the mind. It is the area where everything absorbed by the human is stored. We absorb things through our body using the five senses. It is what we see and read; what we hear; what we feel through touch; what we smell and what we taste (by mouth or any other form). The absorption can also happen when the conscious mind is at rest (e.g. sleeping) in the form of dreams.
The subconscious is also the throne room of Christ in a human being. It is the heart, so besides storing information, it also stores emotions. It is where Christ governs through a human being. Most of the time what we act or speak out is what is in our subconscious, which reflects our emotional state as well as our wisdom. Hence the topic scripture says, the state of our subconscious (hearts) makes us who we are. To change that, we have to change what is stored in our subconscious. The governing therefore, of the Holy Spirit in us changes our stored data. As we feed in the word of God, it teaches us how to act and be, but it also gives us knowledge. As we absorb more of that, the data in our subconscious is slowly erased, transforming us to different beings. As we become slowly transformed by the engaged Holy Spirit, Christ slowly takes form in our hearts (subconscious) as He is the word, and slowly we become like Him. Every other negative emotion slowly becomes replaced with love because He is love. Hence the heart and love are used as one.
Therefore, for us to be like Christ, let us take heed of what we absorb by our five senses for whatever that is, slowly influences the state of our subconscious and subsequently influencing who we become.
Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure. – 1 John 3:2
