In our last issue we discussed the spiritual mind. However, the mind is made out of the conscious mind and the subconscious. The conscious mind is one’s active mind, the response section of the mind. When someone asks you a question, the alert mind [conscious] takes it in for processing, sends it to the subconscious and the subconscious, depending on what is stored in it regarding such sends the response back to the conscious and the conscious mind sends response to the brain, the brain sends words to the mouth. Quite a process right? Considering how quickly we respond to questions at times.
Scripture defines the conscious mind in a very interesting manner.
Genesis 2:10 – 14 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stones are there. The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
Let’s first look at the biblical and spiritual meaning of these names
“The word Eden is a Hebrew word that means atmosphere. Ever wondered why the garden of Eden has not been found? It is because it’s not a place it is an atmosphere. Eden refers to five things. Spot, moment, presence, open door, and delightful. When you put these five together it means, the spot on earth where the presence of God is an open door to heaven, a delightful place.” – Amanda Agora Edike
Pishon represents a full flow of Spiritual intelligence and light into man’s consciousness producing divine ideas. This flow encompasses the whole space of effort or travail to manifest the spiritual ideas. The space of effort or travail [thinking] carries the spiritual treasures necessary for manifestation of ideas.
Gihon represents the formative movement of the breath of God [life] into man’s consciousness to inspire as well as purify the blood [spiritual principle] to the lungs, producing healing and a clean mind
Hiddekel represents a rapid spiritual influx of the nerve fluid throughout the nervous system to release power of the Holy Spirit into the body. This flows in front of Assyria [mental power beyond man’s scope but less than that of the spirit]
Euphrates represents fructifying the blood [spiritual principle] stream through the circulatory system. The circulatory system receives nutrients and pass them through, which it gets from food to the blood. The blood then will have substance for bone, muscle, brain, teeth, hair and every organism in the body
He who believes in Me, out of his belly[heart/core/soul] will flow rivers of living water – John 7:38 nkjv
The core [heart/belly/soul] of a person represents Eden. The scripture above indicates that he who believes in Christ, out of his soul, the four rivers [Pishon; Hiddekel; Gihon, Euphrates] shall flow. They will flow out of him to go and feed the world. When we look at scripture in Genesis 2 we read that it says, the river came out of Eden and split into four river heads. Therefore, as the man was formed to have dominion over every living thing on earth, he was given powers that’ll allow him to take good care of the earth in order for the ground to continuously produce fruit.
The river is life in abundance for a human. It represents the Holy Spirit of God in man. From the river that spreads out to the world, we see the four elements that embody it.
- Spiritual intelligence that carries treasures and light, that can be manifested into the physical through ideas. These ideas can be turned into gold and other gemstones
- Breath of life that carries inspiration as well as spiritual principles that bring healing to the mind. This is where the concept of meditation takes form. But how you meditate is crucial. It is governed by the spiritual principles you follow.
- Spiritual power to one’s nervous system to give mental power that is beyond man’s capacity. This is why for example man is able to speak a language they don’t know or do things with their hands or bodies they generally cannot do. It is when they are consumed by this power.
- Spiritual principles that are food and give life to the living organisms of the body in order for them to function well. The Spiritual principles of a child of God center around believing in Christ, what He stands for. These are :- Life [The Word]; faith [connection to God by the Holy Spirit which leads to application of the Word]; love [God the Father]; peace [benefit of the kingdom]; humility [submission to God]; grace [the unwarranted giving]; prayer [thanksgiving in word] and worship [surrender to God]. Basically meditation for a child of God means a moment taken to soak in worship through song, prayer and the word.
In conclusion, the conscious mind under the governing and subdue by the Holy Spirit is able to operate at a level more superior and powerful than that of an ordinary man, but less than the Spirit itself. It was originally created in that form, with subjection to God it out performs. So the Holy Spirit is not only about giving power to perform by the spiritual gifts. It also gives inspiration, intelligence and mental power beyond ordinary man’s to produce things that bring wealth to a human being. All riches given to a human being are hidden in the spiritual capacity of their conscious mind.
